Simon studied singing,piano and conducting at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and has sinceworked as a conductor in opera and musical theatre, on national tours, in the WestEnd, regional theatres and in major concert houses including The Royal AlbertHall, The Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Royal Festival Hall. He has worked forRegency Opera, English Festival Opera, European Chamber Opera, the Carl RosaOpera Company, Holland Park, and English Country Garden Opera. He toured withHinge & Brackett in their Proms concerts, with the Three British Tenors;with cabaret groups Night Music and First Night; and has worked as MD for manypantomimes and concerts with a host of stars. Recent work includes concerts inMadrid and concerts at St James’s Palace. He has also been touring with aproduction of The Maestro, about the life of the Italian composer Donizetti,which continues touring in 2023 including performances in Bergamo, Italy. Anexperienced teacher and coach, Simon is thrilled to be joining the team atBrighton Academy.
