Students can follow one of two educational pathways that best match the area of the industry in which they are aspiring to have a successful career. On both pathways you'll undertake practical modules in singing, dance, acting, and voice training. From this technical base, you'll develop your creative processes by considering how to apply your techniques to an essential repertoire, to realise creative and musically intelligent interpretations of materials. The dancer/singer pathway has an emphasis on dance technique and history, developing theoretical and technical knowledge of a range of techniques within musical theatre alongside an intense signing regime. The actor/singer pathway training has an emphasis on a range of singing and voice techniques, and an intense acting programme which includes, but is not limited to breaking down text and scenes and creating characters.Performance is emphasised throughout, and you'll continue to enhance your technical and stage skills through a series of performances across a variety of genres. Our aim is that you'll graduate as a technically skilled professional, well-versed in collaboration and personal reflection. Collaborative projects require you to work at industry standard, and within professionally recognised time frames.
Pippin
You'll explore essential core skills through technical training in dance, movement, voice, singing, and acting, working as an individual and as a member of an ensemble. You'll also develop your academic writing skills in research, analysis, and critique.
In year two, you'll build on what you've already learned and move into interpretation, analysis, and performance, as a soloist and within an ensemble. You'll collaborate with industry professionals and peers in a range of workshops and performance opportunities, developing the technical understanding you'll need to kick-start your career in the musical theatre industry.
Unit 3 - Vocational Graded Examination In Dance : Intermediate (28 Credits at Level 3)
Unit 4 - Dance Practice (30 Credits at Level 4)
Year three focuses on performance. You'll hone your skills and knowledge, and enhance your employability as a successful performer. Collaboration with industry specialists, combined with strategically selected projects and public performances, encourages professional working relationships and the entrepreneurial capability vital for future employment.
Child Development - (17 credits Level 4)

You'll also study dance technique and history, developing your theoretical and technical knowledge of a range of techniques within musical theatre. You'll explore how to break down text and scenes, create characters, and remain in the moment of action.

Our aim is that you'll graduate as a technically skilled professional, well-versed in collaboration and personal reflection. You’ll be taught through a range of activities including lectures, workshops, seminars, skills classes, rehearsals, tutorials, theatre visits and theatre productions.

Even though TBA is dedicated to one of the cheapest full-time courses in the country, there are sources of funding available to help with the financial burden whilst training.
A minimum of CDD at A Level, or a BTEC Extended Diploma at MMP, or equivalent, preferably in a related area.
Applications from those studying two A Levels or alternative Level 3 qualifications will be considered on an alternative basis.
Applicants are also required to attend an audition.
Applicants should be aged 15 and over.
